Bond stops playing to pose.

One reason Bond is not just an artist or just a scientist is her drive to learn all she can about the world and share it with others. She won an award for her University of California outreach program by obtaining grant money and managing the program. Over two years, 3,000 teens at risk of dropping out of high school were exposed to the scientific method outdoors; many have pursued higher education.

Bond stayed close to home for her undergraduate work, double-majoring in English and Physical Geography at the University of California, Berkeley. Itching for an international perspective, she obtained her Master’s Degree in Environment and Development (Geography Department) from the University of Cambridge, England.

Whether climbing a desert summit during her annual Death Valley trip or decking herself out in a mirrored belt at the world’s largest bellydance festival, Bond is never bored. She was the first female soccer player in her youth league and placed at a statewide figure skating tournament. She gives her whole heart to songwriting, playing guitar and bass, ashtanga yoga, and whatever comes next.
